How To Stay Healthy in Quarantine

Did you know that older adults and people who have severe medical conditions are at an increased risk for COVID-19? In the United States, 8 out of 10 deaths have been confirmed who are 65 years and older.

To protect you or your loved ones, here are some tips for staying healthy in quarantine:

Quarantine:

Many states have begun to lift their quarantine laws, but that does not mean it is 100% safe to go out. The cases for COVID-19 are still on the rise. To avoid contact with this disease, stay home if possible. Quarantining yourself is key!

Stay Clean:

The general rule is washing your hands for a minimum of 20 seconds. You can sing the “Happy Birthday” song if you do not want to count to 20. Also, practice disinfecting specific areas in the house like doorknobs, remotes, faucets, etc.

Practice Social Distancing:

Avoid close contact with others to decrease your chances of getting COVID-19. If you are out grocery shopping, getting gas or working in the office, be sure to stay 6 feet apart from others. Be sure to wear a mask if you have one!

Mental Health Awareness:

Quarantine can take a toll on your mind. If you are struggling with staying home, try picking up a new brain activity! Read a book, create a new recipe, do a DIY project or a puzzle.
